Glasscraft’s history began in 2004 when the company was first established in the Leeds area.
During its early years, the company focused on building its foundation in the glass manufacturing industry. However, it wasn’t until 2010, when the company was acquired by investment specialist, CorpAcq that Glasscraft’s history truly began to transform. In 2012 the current management took the reins, to run the company independently with satellite support from CorpAcq. This marked the beginning of a new era for the company, one defined by a commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous innovation.
In 2014, Glasscraft’s history took a significant step forward with the purchase of a gas filling and robot production line. This investment not only improved efficiency but also enhanced the overall quality of our sealed glass units, positioning us to meet the growing demand for high performance glass products across the UK.
The following year, in 2016, Glasscraft expanded its operations further with the opening of our Wakefield site. This new location allowed us to increase production capacity, streamline operations, and better serve our customers with faster delivery times and even greater product availability.
In 2017, we invested in our first Bystronic IG (Insulating Glass) line, which significantly boosted our output capacity. This modern equipment enabled us to produce more sealed glass units at an even higher standard, ensuring that we could continue to meet the evolving needs of our growing customer base.
As our business continued to thrive, we took another step forward in 2019 with the installation of a second Bystronic IG line. This was accompanied by the addition of a Helga cutting line, further enhancing our ability to produce precise and high quality glass products efficiently. These advancements allowed us to better serve our customers with both increased capacity and improved product quality.
In 2024, Glasscraft’s history entered an exciting new chapter with the acquisition of an existing glass manufacturer in Liverpool. Retaining all staff and investing over £1 million in a third Bystronic IG line, we further expanded our capacity and ensured that we could meet the increasing demand for our glass products across the UK. This move was a significant milestone, reinforcing our position as a leader in the glass manufacturing industry.
Looking ahead, 2025 will see even more exciting developments for Glasscraft’s history. Glasscraft’s history is one of growth, investment, and unwavering commitment to quality. As we continue to innovate and expand, we remain focused on providing our customers with the highest standard of products and service. Our journey is far from over, and we look forward to the next chapter of Glasscraft’s history as we continue to shape the future of the glass industry.
