At Glasscraft, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to be part of Saint Gobain’s Glass Forever initiative; an industry leading recycling programme that is transforming glass waste into new, high quality float glass.
We collect old sealed glass units from our customers and transport them to our Liverpool Recycling Centre. Here, the glass is processed into cullet – a form of crushed recycled glass – which is then collected by Saint Gobain Glass. At their specialist facility in Eggborough, the cullet is washed, graded, and reintegrated into the glass manufacturing process, creating new, high-performance glass products.
Despite glass being infinitely recyclable, large amounts still end up in landfill or downgraded into low value materials like road aggregate. Saint Gobain Glass Forever is changing this by closing the loop on glass production, ensuring waste glass is reintroduced into the manufacturing cycle. This reduces the demand for raw materials, lowers energy consumption, and significantly cuts carbon emissions.
Glasscraft and Saint Gobain Glass share a vision for a greener future. Through Glass Forever, we are actively contributing to:
To further enhance glass recovery, Saint Gobain Glass has developed a patented, fully mobile glass crushing machine. Used in commercial deconstruction projects, this innovative solution efficiently recycles glass on-site, ensuring more waste is diverted from landfill and reintroduced into production.
By choosing Glasscraft, you are supporting a sustainable glass industry and contributing to a cleaner, greener future. Whether you’re a business or an individual, you can play a vital role in keeping glass in the loop with Saint Gobain’s Glass Forever initiative.
Together, we can make glass a material that truly lasts forever.
