Transport Operative

Location: Liverpool

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from our warehouse to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle heavy lifting, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Duties

• Safely operate a van for the purpose of delivering goods to designated locations.
• Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Communicate effectively with transport supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.
• Perform routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
• Collection of glass.
• Glass handling.
• Preparing glass units ready for dispatch.
• Checking quality and standard of glass.
• Preparing old glass for recycling using a manual glass breaking hopper.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Delivery Driver within the glass industry or in a similar role is preferred.
• Experience with heavy lifting and moving goods safely is required.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations will be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers and team members effectively.

This role is aimed at drivers of a 3.5T vehicle. The successful candidate may be required to collect products from any 3 of the Glasscraft factories which are based in Leeds, Wakefield and Liverpool
